A recent visitor to New Zealand was a “kababayan.” Dr. Hector Jalipa, World Vision International’s Regional HIV/AIDS Advisor for Africa. Dr Jalipa was the key speaker for this year’s 40 Hour Famine sponsored by the World Vision New Zealand. He was invited to speak to school, churches, business groups and the media about children in crisis focusing on the social and economic impacts of HIV/AIDS.

Dr Hector Jalipa is based in Nairobi, Kenya and hails from Cotabato in the Philippines and is a medical school graduate of UST with a postgraduate degree from Harvard University‚s School of Public Health on Health Policy and Management. He was featured in February 2005 in ABS-CBN’s program, The Correspondents “Pinoy Heroes in Africa.”

Truly a unique Pinoy, Dr Hector Jalipa is our pride as hedevotes his time and effort providing leadership for World Vision’s HIV/AIDS initiatives, concentrating on strategic development and advocacy and programme developments.
