Wellington’s new Filipino Chaplain Last July, the Filipino community welcomed Fr Winifred Avendano, MSP in New Zealand as he takes on his mission as Chaplain for the Wellington Filipino Chaplaincy and Assistant Parish of St Martin de Porres Parish in Lower Hutt, Wellington. The Filipino community in Wellington will surely be delighted with a great priest like Fr Red, who used to be a band member in the Philippines. For sure parishioners of St Martin de Porres and our Filipino community would enjoy the Sunday masses as Fr Red sings out his Mass’s Gloria and maybe, just maybe his homilies.
